Natural Merino wool means the quilt is filled with genuine Merino wool in its natural, unprocessed form — no harsh chemical treatments, no synthetic blends. The Merino Home uses natural Merino wool — the genuine article, without the provenance premium of our Kangaroo Island ranges.
Is the Merino Home quilt good for allergies? +
Yes, natural Merino wool is naturally non-allergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. The Merino Home contains no harsh chemicals and is kind to most allergy and asthma sufferers.
How does the Merino Home compare to the Estate Merino and 1836? +
All three ranges use genuine Merino wool and are handcrafted in Australia. The Merino Home uses natural Australian Merino wool. The Estate Merino uses pure Kangaroo Island Merino with a 400 thread-count cotton sateen. The 1836 uses pure fine Merino graded by micron from Kangaroo Island in a 350 thread-count TENCEL sateen. Natural Merino wool is superior to any synthetic quilt. It regulates temperature, wicks moisture and breathes with your body giving you your best night sleep.
How warm is each Merino Home weight? +
The Merino Home comes in three weights. The 200gsm Summer is the lightest, for warm sleepers and hot nights. The 300gsm All Year suits most of the year in temperate homes. The 400gsm Winter uses two-layer construction for deep even warmth.
What is the difference between a quilt, a doona and a duvet? +
A quilt, a doona and a duvet are the same thing — a fibre-filled bed covering. Doona is the common Australian term, duvet is used in Europe and the UK, and comforter in North America.
