A comfort top sits on top of your mattress beneath your sheet, adding a layer of natural fibre cushioning and support. Unlike a mattress topper, it is designed primarily for comfort and breathability rather than to change the feel of the mattress itself. The Merino Comfort Top adds a layer of pure Merino wool that is naturally breathable, temperature-regulating and gently cushioning.
What is the difference between a comfort top and an underblanket? +
Both sit between your mattress and sheet, but they serve slightly different purposes. An underblanket is typically reversible and designed for seasonal use - one side for warmth, one for cool. A comfort top is a single all-year layer focused on softness, comfort and natural breathability.
Will it stay in place through the night? +
Yes, the Merino Comfort Top is secured with a fully fitted skirt and extra-wide elastic corner straps, holding it firmly in place regardless of how you sleep.
Why is bamboo better for moisture management than cotton? +
Bamboo fibre absorbs moisture significantly faster and in greater quantities than cotton. This means that rather than allowing perspiration to build up and cool against your skin, a bamboo layer actively draws moisture away from your body — keeping you dry and comfortable through the night. This is particularly valuable in a comfort top, which sits close to your body beneath your sheet.

Our beautifully designed Comfort Toppers and Underblankets are all secured with a fully fitted skirt of 38cm depth — expandable to 52cm to fit all mattress depths — with extra-wide elastic corner straps. It is designed to stay firmly in place regardless of how you sleep.
What is the UltraSoft seamless quilted design? +
Unlike conventional comfort tops where the fill is secured with external stitching — which can create ridge lines and affect comfort — the Alpaca Bamboo Comfort Top uses an internal quilting design with no external stitch lines. This creates a smoother, more even sleep surface and improves the distribution of the fill for better support and temperature balance across the full surface of the topper.
How do I care for my Alpaca Bamboo Comfort Top? +
Dry clean is recommended to maintain the fill and construction over time. Spot clean with cold water and mild soap for small marks. Always dry thoroughly before use. Do not machine wash.
