Kelly & Windsor Australia was awarded the Hume Council Export award for 2016.
The Hume Council is the local government authority in the north east of Melbourne which includes a diverse range of residential, commercial and manufacturing businesses. The Council's area is quite large and includes the Melbourne airport and over five thousand small to large manufacturing companies. The Council is very proactive and supportive of manufacturing businesses within its area and indeed Kelly & Windsor has had several Mayors and executive Council staff tour our factory over the years.
The Hume Council presents annual awards to companies in its region for various categories of business including best small manufacturing and exporters.
For the 2016 event several hundred companies were nominated and the finalists invited to a presentation event at the Hilton hotel at Melbourne Airport who were a major sponsor. We were advised in November that Kelly & Windsor was a finalist and we were invited to the evening event. As each award category was introduced the finalists were named and the winners were announced by Drew Jessop the Mayor of the Hume Council. Kelly & Windsor won the Export Award and was a finalist in the best small manufacturing category.
