Giving Back This Winter: Kelly & Windsor “Father Bob Charity Day”

At Kelly & Windsor, we believe that premium Australian made bedding should not only deliver exceptional comfort—but also make a meaningful difference.

As we approach the end of the financial year, we found ourselves with a growing number of samples, overruns, and surplus wool quilts and pillows—many produced in export sizes and no longer suitable for retail. Like many manufacturers, these products can often sit in storage or go to waste.

But with winter now here in Melbourne, we asked a simple question: could these quilts provide warmth to someone who truly needs it?

Turning Surplus into Support

Rather than leaving these products unused, we decided to rework them into first-quality Australian size quilts and pillows—ready to deliver the comfort and warmth they were designed for.

This initiative aligns with our commitment to sustainable bedding practices and reducing waste, while ensuring that high-quality natural fibre bedding reaches people who need it most.

Partnering with Father Bob Maguire Foundation

To bring this idea to life, we reached out to the Father Bob Maguire Foundation, a respected Melbourne organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable members of the community.

Their response was immediate—they loved the idea.

Announcing “Father Bob Charity Day”

On June 30, Kelly & Windsor will hold our very first “Father Bob Charity Day.”

On this day, we will donate an entire day of production to manufacture Australian made wool quilts and pillows, using premium materials including Merino wool bedding.

These products will then be donated directly to the Father Bob Maguire Foundation, who will distribute them to people in need across Melbourne.

Warmth Where It Matters Most

As a manufacturer of luxury bedding in Australia, we spend every day focused on comfort, warmth, and quality sleep.

But we also recognise that for many in our community, even a warm bed is not guaranteed.

Through this initiative, we hope to provide:

  • Warm, high-quality winter quilts for those doing it tough
  • Comfortable, durable pillows and bedding
  • A small but meaningful contribution to improving sleep and wellbeing

Because everyone deserves a warm night’s sleep.

Supporting Our Local Community

The Father Bob Maguire Foundation plays a vital role in supporting people experiencing hardship through a wide range of community programs.

We are incredibly proud to support their work and to contribute in a way that reflects who we are as a business—an Australian made bedding manufacturer committed to quality, sustainability, and community.

More Than Just Bedding

“Father Bob Charity Day” is more than a one-day initiative.

It represents a broader commitment to:

  • Reducing waste through responsible manufacturing
  • Supporting local communities in Melbourne
  • Using our expertise in premium wool quilts and natural fibre bedding for good

We look forward to making this an ongoing part of what we do
